SAHARA’S LAW SIGNED INTO EFFECT!
We are extremely proud and excited to announce that on June 28, 2013 Missouri Governor Jay Nixon signed Sahara’s Law into effect. Sponsored by Sen. Wayne Wallingford, R-Cape Girardeau, Sahara’s Law allows taxpayers to designate a portion of their income tax refund to the Pediatric Cancer Research Fund. The Fund is expected to raise approximately $11,000 a year, all of which will be donated to CureSearch for Children’s Cancer.
Sahara “Hoops” Aldridge
Nearly three years after Shannon and Amy Aldridge of Cape Girardeau, MO lost their 13 year-old daughter, Sahara “Hoops” Aldridge, to a malignant brain tumor, they decided to host an event that would bring the community together to raise money for the pediatric brain tumor research program at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford University, where Sahara received such excellent treatment and care.
